How to get a Discount on Paint

So I am painting my Living Room/Kitchen/Foyer and Hallway. I needed a lot of paint. So the Paint is $24 a can which works out to be about $150 total. I went to Lowes yesterday and they were running a special where you can get a $5 rebate on each can of paint you buy. That rebate ended yesterday, however they run this promotion about once every 6 weeks or so. So here is what I did:

6 cans of Paint x $24 = $144
-$5 on $25 Tru Value coupon found in Family Circle Magazine (competitor's coupon)
-$30 Rebate for buying Lowes paint
-$7.50 (the amount of rewards Discover Card is paying me to use their card to buy purchases for my home) This is part of their quarterly 5% back promo. YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR THIS AT THEIR WEBSITE OR OVER THE PHONE.

Total discounts: $42.50
After all the discounts, I will wind up paying $101.50

Where do I get all the deals?

It has been a long time since I posted here and I have to appologise for that. This blog has become very time consuming and I have had a hard time keeping you updated on the deals. So although, I will still post here from time to time, I want you to know where you can find me and lots of awsome deals too.

This site has a forum for each seperate store and lots of other helpful information. You will find me there posting deals under the name mtnmamamj. I have been a forum leader for the Food Lion forum at www.weusecoupons.com since September. The site is a wonderful resource. I hope you find it helpful.

Hot Printables

Hot Kraft Printables

This includes a $1 on 2 Capri Suns coupons (I have now printed it 4 times -- not sure why). Capri Suns are on sale at Food Lion for $2 and are part of that $20 rebate I mentioned in my previous post.

Starkist Tuna Pouches $1 on 1 Coupon

It is reported that these are .97 at Walmart

Contadina Tomato $.75 on 3 Coupon

Good for a store who doubles

Food Lion Deals through 2/2

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. Last week was a slow week at Rite Aid, CVS and Target.

Here are a few deals at Food Lion this week:

Post Grape Nuts are $2
Go here and scroll to the bottom to sign up for a $2 off printable
Plus here are Food Lion coupons that include a $1 off 1 Grape Nuts Coupon

If your store will take both (mine did), then you have a $1 money maker (it goes towards another item in your order -- they won't give you money back)

Produce Deals
Here's a $1 off $5 Produce Coupon -- Print it several times the first time when the print que pops up and asks how many copies you want.

$5 is the regular price so here are some matchups to sale items:

3 lbs Apples x $1.69 = $5.07, sale price $2.67 - $1 FLIP = $1.67
2.6 lbs Pears x $1.99 = $5.18, sale price $2.59 - $1 = $1.59
2.6lbs Green Beens x $1.99 = $5.18, sale price $3.88 - $1 = $2.88

Nabisco Snack Crackers BOGO (reg. $3.59)
$2 on 2 IP
$1 on 1 1/24 insert

These also qualify for the $20 Rebate from the $55 Throughout the school year of savings booklet. This was the booklet that you could find in the yellow cardboard school bus at the beginning of school. It had 2 $20 rebates. One was valid in the fall, the other is valid now through June.
