Food Lion Deals through 2/2

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. Last week was a slow week at Rite Aid, CVS and Target.

Here are a few deals at Food Lion this week:

Post Grape Nuts are $2
Go here and scroll to the bottom to sign up for a $2 off printable
Plus here are Food Lion coupons that include a $1 off 1 Grape Nuts Coupon

If your store will take both (mine did), then you have a $1 money maker (it goes towards another item in your order -- they won't give you money back)

Produce Deals
Here's a $1 off $5 Produce Coupon -- Print it several times the first time when the print que pops up and asks how many copies you want.

$5 is the regular price so here are some matchups to sale items:

3 lbs Apples x $1.69 = $5.07, sale price $2.67 - $1 FLIP = $1.67
2.6 lbs Pears x $1.99 = $5.18, sale price $2.59 - $1 = $1.59
2.6lbs Green Beens x $1.99 = $5.18, sale price $3.88 - $1 = $2.88

Nabisco Snack Crackers BOGO (reg. $3.59)
$2 on 2 IP
$1 on 1 1/24 insert

These also qualify for the $20 Rebate from the $55 Throughout the school year of savings booklet. This was the booklet that you could find in the yellow cardboard school bus at the beginning of school. It had 2 $20 rebates. One was valid in the fall, the other is valid now through June.

Coors Rebate Correction

My mom pointed out to me that there are actually 2 rebates for Virgina. It is number 2 and number 4. Woo Hoo. I had enough receipts for 1 rebate already. I will have to look for more receipts now!

A Few Goodies

Big Lots 20% off coupon - its good for over a week

$1 Printer Paper at Staples this week and next. You pay full price for it and then fill out the online Staples Easy Rebates and receive the difference back.

Rebate for $10 back on $30 purchase of Pepsi, Tostitos, paper/plastic products, ice and more. I called Coors about this rebate and it is valid if printed and sent in. Luckily I already had receipts that matched all of this stuff! There are 4 forms here. Pick the one valid for your state. Virginia's is the 2nd form.

Food Lion Macarooni & Cheese - .08/each, Tomato Soup .20/each

Now that I have your attention, it doesn't work exactly like that, but it is still an awsome deal. Here goes the details:

Food Lion is running a promotion. Whenever you buy at least 4 Food Lion brand items you will get a catalina coupon for money off your next order. You can buy upto 40 Food Lion items in one shopping trip and earn a $10 catalina. Here is what I did today:

TRANSACTION #1
40 Food Lion Macarooni & Cheeses x .33 each = $13.92 (I had $5.25 in catalinas - $4 of which I found in the carts in the parking lot), so I paid $8.28 out of pocket and received a $10 Catalina towards my next purchase

TRANSACTION #2
23 Food Lion Tomato Soups (Chicken Noodle is also on sale) x .45 = $10.36 - $10 catalina from first transaction = .36, and I received a $5.75 catalina for my next order.

Food Lion has some other deals going on also. Here are some highlights:

Alpo Dog Food 17.6 pound bag BOGO (reg. $11.99). You can go here and get a coupon for $1.00 off after getting a quote for pet insurance. Enter code b3bnb. After they give you the quote DO NOT apply for a policy, but rather request the quote be emailed to you and when they do you will get a link for a bricks coupon. I was able to print it twice.

Tombstone Pizzas are BOGO (reg. $4.99), but one for $2.49 and use the Food Lion coupon here for $1 off. You can print that coupon several times the first time you go to print it by selecting the number of copies you want. HOWEVER, you may only use one per transaction.

I am sure there are more deals, but those are the best that I have found so far and I am short on time. I have some other goodies to post later, so make sure you check back!

Harris Teeter Super Doubles ($12 Out of Pocket)!

Today was the last day of Harris Teeter Super Doubles. They were out of a lot of stuff and this is not my best trip ever. But here is how I did:

Coupon/Sale Savings: $131.xx

Amount paid with gift cards that I got for free: $30

Amount out of Pocket $12.xx
I used milk as a filler to get to $40 so I could use the $10 off coupon they sent me. Since we go through 5 gallons a week, this works for us.

Persistence Pays Off!

Being a Good Consumer

This Christmas my son received a $20 toy which claimed to have come with batteries. Well actually it did come with batteries, but the batteries didn't work. That would be fine except that when I went to buy new batteries (special watch batteries), Radio Shack Charged me $12 for them. Since the toy was only $20 to begin with I was irratated. Anyhow I called the company when I got home today and told them my issues. They said they couldn't replace the toy because they no longer made it and that they do not send batteries to through the mail. She did say that she would exchange the toy for another toy. I told her that we could not do this since my son was certain this was the toy he wanted. So in the end they are sending me a new toy without taking the old toy. That works for me. In addition, I was able to find the batteries at another store for $7 and I have a $2 coupon. So I will return the $12 batteries to Radio Shack and get the toy working again and a new toy for $5!

Staples

On another note I went to staples today to buy toner. If you read my previous post then you know it is buy one get one 1/2 off (HP only). Anyhow I bought 2 double packs for $90 (gasp!). However I will be getting $18 of that back on my Staples rewards check and I turned in 2 toner cartridges for another $12 credit on my rewards check. So in the end I paid half price for my toner, which should last me quite a while now.

CVS $5 off $20 Coupon

Here is another $5 off $20 coupon good for this week. Here is what I plan to do:

1 - 20 pack Cottonelle $12.88, get $4 ECBs (extra care bucks -- CVS money)

2 - Oust air freshners $7.98, get $6 ECBs (unadvertised deal)

Total: $20.86

-$5 on $20 coupon

-$3.99 (Buy One Get One Free Oust Coupon from 1/3 insert)

=$11.xx ( which I will pay $8 of with ECBS), get back $10 in ECBs to use next week.

By the way, you can do that Oust deal 3 times (buy 6, using 3 BOGO coupons) and the ECBs will print through 2/14. HOWEVER, YOU MUST DO THEM IN SEPERATE TRANSACTIONS. Don't ask why, that is just how they are working.

Staples Freebies!

Staples has several freebies (you will get the money back on your Staples Rewards Check, which you can spend on items at Staples). Here's the list:

--Staples perforated writing pads, leter size, 6 pack $7.99

--Bankers Box letter/legal size boxes 6 pack - $9.99

--Staples #10 Envelopoes 100 pack - $7.99

--Zebra Sarasa gel pens 5 pack $3.99

--Staples small binder Clips 40/box $3.39

They also have Multipurpose Paper for $2 after easy rebate

and here is what I am getting this week:

HP printer ink cartridges Buy one Get one for 1/2 price. I have tried to have my cartridges refilled at Walgreens with no luck. So I have to buy it. In addition to the BOGO 1/2 off sale, you will get 20% back of that purchase on your rewards check. So if you spend $60 on ink, you will get $12 back on your check, making your ink cost you about $48. Also you should turn in empty cartridges to Staples because they give you $3 back on your rewards check for everyone you turn in. However, this week you will get $6 back for everyone you turn in. I do think they have a daily limit, but can't remember how many that is.
