Food Lion Matchups 12/8-12/15

PRINT THE FOOD LION COUPONS SEVERAL TIMES THE FIRST TIME. WHEN THE PRINT QUE POPS UP AND ASKS HOW MANY YOU WANT TO PRINT -- select the number you want then. You can only use one per transaction of the same FLIP (Food Lion Internet Printable), but the meat and produce coupons are awsome so you want extras on hand.

Couple that coupon with the Chuck Roast that's on sale for a great deal. I got a 3+ lb chuck roast for $4.xx

When the Food Lion coupons say $2 on $10, the $10 is the regular price, not the sale price. So here's what it looked like 3.11 lbs x $3.29lb = $10.23 reg. price, $6.15 sale price - $2 = $4.15 for over 3 lbs.

$2 on $6 Produce - PRINT THIS A BUNCH OF TIMES
These are like gold because you don't often get discounts on produce. Here is a scenario for you:

2 lbs Bananas = $1.16
1 -4lb bag of Oranges (reg. $4.99), sale price $2.50
= $3.66 - $2 = $1.66

Tombstone Pizza BOGO $2.70 sale price
$2 Ice House on any brand pizza coupon

Tostitos Chips (Sale $3)
$1 on 1 Tear Pads (found in beer aisle -- certain states only)
Free Salsa wyb 2 Tostitos products Beer Tear Pad and also a Peelie on some Tostitos

I used all 3 coupons together yesterday and wound up with 2 Chips and 1 Salsa for $3. If you don't have the Salsa coupon, then you can get the chips for $1 each if you do seperate transactions.

Food Lion Drinking Water 24 bottles (Sale $2.99)
$1 on 1 FLIP -- PART OF THE PRODUCE FLIP COUPONS ABOVE

General Mills Cookie Crisp or Cheerios BOGO

Nestle Morsels Sale $2
$1 on 2 insert coupon

Tony Pizza sale $1
$1 on 2 from 10/4 insert

Magnum Razor $2.50 MONEY MAKER
$3 off 1 Coupons

Target Coupons

In my post immediately before this one, I mentioned that you could get some coupons from Target's website. They have changed things a bit there and there are some quirks with it. So if those coupons don't come up the first time you pull up the coupons, pick one coupon from the ones that do come up and print it, then if you go back to the Target coupons you should get several more coupons listed. I don't know why they are doing that now. Also, Target's site now has both Manufacturer's and Target coupons on there. So once they print, look to see which it is. Although you can use a Target and manufacturer's coupon together for 1 item, YOU CAN NOT USE 2 MANUFACTURER'S COUPONS FOR 1 ITEM.

Target Steals (FREE SWISS MISS & CHEAP COOKIES/CRACKERS)

Target is running a gift card promotion when you buy 5 Keebler Crackers, Fudge Shoppe Cookies or Cheez-it Crackers, you get a $5 Gift Card. These crackers/cookies are on sale for $2/each. So basically you pay $10, get $5 Gift card back, so its like getting them for $1 each. But use the coupons below and save even more. Here are the products that I know are included:

Cheez - it crackers
Fudge Shoppe Cookies
Scooby Snacks (scan these to make sure)
Keebler Townhouse Crackers
Keebler Flipsides Crackers (go here for $1/2 Flipsides )
Keebler Club Crackers

.55 any Keebler Cookie (FIRE FOX ONLY LINK)

Go to www.snackpicks.com to get $1 off 2 Fudge Shoppe Cookies and $.75/1 Cheez-it coupon and $.75 off 1 Toppers (not sure if this is part of the deal)

Finally, there is a $1 off 3 Keebler Cookies coupon here. WHILE THERE, print the $1 off Swiss Miss coupon. This coupon makes it FREE. I was able to print it twice.

FREE COFFEE AND MORE FROM FOOD LION

Food Lion is giving away the following:

FREE Folgers Gourmet Selections Coffee, 11-12 Ounce Bag (5.00 value)
FREE Nestle Morsels, 10-12 Ounce Bag (2.00 value)

All you have to do is text to 467-467 and type in the word Coffee. You need your MVP # with you.

Free Batteries!

Who Can't resist free batteries especially at this time of the year? Staples has a deal where if you buy a 20 pack of Duracell Batteries for $12.99 and use your Rewards Card, you will get $12.99 back in your quarterly rewards check. Your quarterly rewards check can be used to buy anything in the store. Limit is two per week. I just bought 2 today but this deal is available next week too. BUT IT GETS BETTER, if you have the $1 off Duracell batteries coupons from the recent P&G insert, then you can make a buck per 20 pack. That should at least cover the tax. I had a $19 rewards check to spend today, so my transaction looked like this:

$26 (2 packs of batteries)
-$19 Rewards check
-$2 (2 - $1 Duracell coupons)
-$5 Out of pocket for 40 batteries. I will now get $26 back on my next quarterly check.

Swaggin got me almost $20!!!!

I have written about this before, but I am telling you it is really easy money. I signed up for Swagbucks maybe 9 months ago and I have earned $15 in Amazon money and almost another $5. Once you sign-up, you just install a swagbucks tool bar and do your searches through swagbucks instead of google. It's that simple. My Christmas Shopping list is $15 cheaper just by making this small change. Check it out here:

Buy a $25 I-Tunes, get a $5 On Your Next Purchase Coupon

K-Mart has a deal right now that when you buy a $25 I-Tunes gift card you will get a $5 coupon for your next purchase. You can use the $5 coupon towards your next purchase of another $25 I-Tunes gift card and another $5 coupon will print. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO A REGISTER THAT HAS A WORKING CATALINA MACHINE (THAT THING THAT SPITS OUT COUPONS).

I have no idea how long this deal will last, so I would hurry in.

FREE $10 for your change at Coinstar

This ends on 12/6 -- so hurry. FIRST OF ALL YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL OF THE RULES EXACTLY. So go here and read them carefully.

Here's how it works:

1) Take $40 in change to a coinstar location. I personally count my money first to make sure I have the right amount. Sounds counter productive, but I am going for the free $10 not the counting service. Take a little extra in case you miscount -- also sometimes these machines aren't perfect. LOAD THE MONEY SLOWLY.

2) In order to get the $10 extra bucks you must load the $40 onto a gift card or e-certificate. Here is a list of choices for gift cards. I like the Lowes one (you can use it to buy your Christmas Tree) or CVS is always good too.

3) Your extra $10 comes 6-8 weeks later in the form of a gift card from the place you chose before. So you don't get this money right away. YOU MUST FILL OUT YOUR CLAIM FORM THAT IS ON YOUR RECEIPT AND SEND IT IN TO GET THE $10.

4) No change? No problem. You can go to the bank and ask for 4 rolls of quarters.

Rite Aid Coupons

New $3 off $15 Rite Aid Coupon only good this week.

$5 off $25

Always give them the Rite Aid coupon first so that your total is high enough to qualify. Then give them your manufacturer's coupons.

Martins -- FREE Veggies -- FREE Crackers

O.k. I haven't shopped much at Martins because their employees are anti-coupon. This week they have $1 doublers in their ad. Thing is none of the ads at the store have them. So I spoke with Doug Anders (store manager) about this. I explained to him that if he was not interested in accomodating couponers then I would just keep giving my business to Food Lion. He was completely helpful. So here is what he told me:

1) We can print the doublers from their online ad and bring them (only 4 per transaction). They will have to manually enter them because the bar code does not print large enough.

2) The $15 minimum mentioned on many of their coupons is after store discounts (card scanned) and before tax, but BEFORE manufacturer coupons. This is so not the story I always got from the cashiers. So as long as your order after you scan your bonus card is above $15 not including tax, you qualify.

So here are just a couple of great finds with the doublers:

Ritz Crackers are 3 for $6. MUST BUY EXACTLY 3 - $1 coupon doubled from 11/8 Smart Source insert = FREE, if you found the Jingle in your Holiday's booklet at Food Lion, then these will go towards the buy 10, get $10 back rebate too.

Kraft Shredded Cheese - $1.66 - $1 on 2 insert coupon doubled (expires after Wednesday) = .66 each

Crisco Oil - $2.69 - $1 on 1 coupon doubled from 11/8 Red Plum insert = .69 for Crisco Oil

Some Kelloggs Cereal 4 for $8 MUST BUY 4-- don't know what coupons are out for these, but if you have some $1 coupons these become free or cheap.

Giant Steamfresh Veggies are on sale for $1 - $1 printable coupon = FREE -- this coupon states you must have a $15 minimum

Don't forget about looking to see what meat you can get with a bargain with $2 off $5 printable coupon either.

Printable $1 Veggie and $2 Meat Coupon -- sometimes they take this coupon down before it expires so print as many as you want now. ONLY ONE PER TRANSACTIONS PLEASE.

Making the Most of your Staples Reward Check

I received my quarterly Staples Rewards Check a few days ago in the mail. Mine was $19.77 this time mostly because of the "free" back pack promo they had in August. Next week they will be having a $1 Sale. Here is how you can turn your Rewards Check into Cash:

Sales Ad for 11/8 - 11/14:
Photo Paper $9.99 - 8.99 easy rebate = $1 (limit 2)
Printer Paper $4.99 - $3.99 easy rebate = $1 (limit 2)

For me I could do this:
1 Photo Paper - $9.99
2 Printer Papers - $9.98
Subtotal = $19.97 - $19.77 (rewards check) = .20+ tax, get back $16.97 in easy rebates

However, I am going to use it this way instead:
2 Printer Papers = $9.98 (think Christmas newsletter and printing coupons)
1 Book of Stamps = $8.80 (this is a hard item to get a discount on)
1 Package of Colored Pencils = $1
Subtotal = $19.78 - $19.77 (rewards check) = .01 + tax, get back $7.98 in easy rebates

That makes it possible for me to get a discount on stamps, which is hard to do.

$2 off $5 Meat at Martins & Some Triples Events

Food Lion's ad stinks as far as I am concerned this week. But here are a few other goodies for you:

Martins: Here is a $2 off $5 Meat and $1 off Giant Steam Fresh Veggies coupon. I so needed this because all we have in the freezer is chicken. So time to stock up on some other meats. You can print these as many times as you want to and they are valid until 11/21.

Shoppers Food Warehouse: Starting Thursday, November 5th Shoppers is Tripling. Woo Hoo. They haven't tripled in so long. Anyhow, they are tripling coupons upto .99, so a .75 coupon becomes $2.25. There is not limit on how many coupons you can use, but you can only use 4 coupons of a kind. Of course, if you have more than 4, you can probably break them into seperate transactions. If I find any must haves tomorrow when I review their ad, I will let you know.

Harris Teeter: Starting today, they are tripling coupons. They only allow you to triple your first 20 coupons per address, per day. Their cards are linked to your address. If you have more than one card for the same address, your second set of coupons will not triple. They will only take 3 coupons of the same kind and only 2 internet printables of the same kind. If you have coupons for $1 or more, put those at the end. The computer only considers tripling the first 20 coupons.

CVS $5 off $20 Coupon

O.k. this is a hard one to explain how to get. First go here. Then wait for the banner to come up at the top of the screen. If it is not a banner for CVS that says it is for a $5 coupon, then hit refresh (that is the button in your browser with 2 arrows that are green) until you get the CVS banner with the $5 coupon. DON'T CLICK ON ANYTHING ONCE IT COMES UP. Just run your mouse over top of the banner until it peels away the 4 stickies. At the bottom there is a button labeled "print coupon now". Only click on that. You can only print one. These are individually numbered, so if you copy it or make it into a pdf, the second one will beep. That coupon is good until 12/31. I would probably reserve that coupon for Black Friday or December ecb deals.
Then if you want a coupon you should use now. Go here and you can get a $5 off $30 coupon that is valid for 2 weeks.
Get the most bang for your buck at CVS -- Hand them the store coupon first once you have met your minimum on the coupon ($20 or $30), then give them your manufacturer's coupons and ecbs.

Wii Games Steal and Target Toy Coupons!

Target has Wii games Buy 2 get 1 free this week. But first go here and find the $10 off 2 Wii games coupon. There are also many other Target toy coupons there, so check them out.

So if you are getting $50 Wii games, you would wind up paying $90 for all three or $30 each.

There are a few others that are Free After Rebate as well, so it is worth looking through the ad to see what you can use.

Ziploc Possible Money Maker

THANKS TO MY FRIEND ANGELA, FOR THIS GREAT DEAL

Several stores are participating in a Ziploc Catalina deal right now. Martins, in my area is participating. That probably (not sure, though) means Giant is participating. Jewel and Acme (if anyone has either of those) are others. Sorry I don't have a better list for you. Here's the deal:

Buy 3 Ziplocks, get $2 catalina

As far as I can see the catalina runs through 11/1. Anyhow, at Martins the lowest priced Ziplocs are $2.15 x 3 = $6.45. Use a bogo coupon from a recent insert and you will bring your total down to $4.30 - $1 (.55 coupon DOUBLED from a recent insert = $3.30, get a $2 on your next order Catalina.

Then use this form to send in for $5 back when you buy 3 SC Johnson products. That form can be used 3 times (in seperate envelopes) per household. So the next transaction will look like this:

$2.15 x 3 = $6.45 - $2.15 (bogo coupon) = $4.30 - $1 (.55 coupon doubled) = $3.30 - $2 catalina (from previous order) = $1.30, get another $2 on your next order coupon, send in for another $5.

So all in all heres the breakdown:
Total Out of Pocket: $5.90 before tax
Left over Catalina: $2 (to spend on another visit)
Rebates to send in for: $15
Total amount made: $11.10 and you get 9 boxes of Ziplocs.

A Bunch of Freebies and Rite Aid Money Makers!

I can't believe I am posting these great deals again before I have had a chance to get them. The last few times I did this, Rite Aid and CVS were out of stuff when I got there. But there are some great deals this week.

CVS:

The best way to use CVS ECBs (extra care bucks) is to use this week's ECBs on next week's deals with ECBs. So tomorrow when I go to get my pumpkin carving kit, I will pay for it with ECBs I already have, so all I will have to pay out of pocket is tax.

THREE DAY ONLY SALE:
--Pumpkin Carving Kit $1.99, get $1.99 in ecbs
--Treat Bag .99, get .99 in ecbs

ALL WEEK SALE:
--Kashi Go Lean Cereal is on sale for $3. If you are a member of www.vocalpoint.com then you receieve 2 - $3 coupons this week for this cereal. If you are not a member, then nows the time to signup. They send great coupons.

Rite Aid:
Rite Aid has bunches for free after SCR (Single Check Rebates) this week. If you have never done SCR's they are real easy. After your initial sign-up on their website, you just enter information from your receipt online. By using coupons these will be money makers. Since there is more than $50 in Frees this week, I would break the order into 2 and use 2 $5 off $25 coupons.

$5 off $25 here -- YOU GIVE THEM THIS COUPON FIRST, BEFORE YOUR OTHER COUPONS.

All of these are free after SCR:
Comtrex $3.99
Sucrets $2.99
Breathe Again $7.99
Bodiheat $2.99
Throat Cooler $2.99 -- coupon
Coldwar $3.99
Simply Saline $4.99

Food Lion Deals 10/7-10/13

First let me tell you that Food Lion is doing their Turkey promo again. Basically you spend $45 in 6 out of 8 weeks and earn a $20 Coupon good for anything at Food Lion. The promo has changed slightly. The $45 must be met after MVP discounts, but it is before coupons. So say your total after mvp discount is $45, but you have $20 worth of coupons, you pay $25 and still get credit for one week of their promo. This is week 2. Here are some great deals this week:

SAVED: $72

Refresher Course on Coupon Events

I have posted this information before, but I just wanted to help you prepare for coupon events

How to Shop a Doubles or Triples Event:
1) Paper clip together all duplicate coupons
2) Pull the coupons you think you may use and put them in a seperate envelope
3) Go through the store coupon by coupon and determine whether you think it is a good buy or not
4) Put the coupons you do not plan to use in another envelope to refile later
5) Triples is overwelming sometimes, try to only shop for bargains during this trip and not for your regular list. If I am not getting a steal, I don't get it.
6) If you are doing seperate transactions, seperate both your items in your cart and place the coupons you will use for each transaction in seperate envelopes or paper clips, so you are ready at the register
7) Bring small bills, sometimes your order will come to $1 or under
8) Pay close attention at the register as they scan your coupons. Do not get distracted during this time. It is always better to catch an error now.
9) If your coupon's barcode starts with a 5, it will triple even if it says "Do Not Double or Triple". It will NOT triple if it starts with a 9. I had coupons from 2 different stores blinkie machines last time and didn't realize that some started with a 9 and some with a 5, so check your bar codes.

BLOOM SUPER DOUBLES EVENT 9/25-9/29

We received no notice for this event. Super doubles means they will be doubling coupons with face amounts upto 1.99 (so $1.50 coupon becomes $3). I won't even be able to go until Monday. Here are some details:

Here are Bloom's basic coupon event rules. They are not as strict as Harris Teeter.

1) Bloom excepts and triples/doubles IP's (although some select Blooms have given people trouble about this)
2) Bloom will triple/double 20 coupons per day. So far, as long as you close out one transaction, you can still do another transaction with the same card on the same day and still get your coupons to triple/double. I usually just ask and noone has turned me down yet.
3) Bloom triple/double upto the product's regular price (meaning you can get overages on sale items upto their regular value)

Double Deals to get you started based on their add (there are probably many more):

--Ken's Dressing BOGO (guessing the regular price is around $3)
$1 on 1 coupons will probably give you overages on this (insert coupon)
--Digiorno $5.50
$1 insert coupons = $3.50
--Coffeemate 2 for $3.32
$1 on 2 coupon = $1.32 for 2
--Birds Eye Veggies 2 for $3
$1 insert coupon = $1 for 2

I will try to add some more as I find them, but have been busy.

Don't forget the limit on BOGO items. It is usually 4 meaning you need to breakup your transactions if you are buying more than 4 of a BOGO item.

FYI - Harris Teeter is doing Super Doubles starting Wednesday 9/30 - 10/6

Harris Teeter Triples

Harris Teeter is Tripling starting Wednesday September 16. Their rules are complex, but the savings should make several items free or pennies. They will only triple your first 20 coupons per day that are under $1 (if you have any for over a dollar, put them at the end). This is not linked by card, but by address. They will only take 2 internet printables of a kind and 3 of any other coupon of a kind. I have a $20 off $50 coupon too, so I plan to get my produce/milk for the week during the same time.

Total Spent on Groceries for August was under $300 before Rebates!!!

People ask from time to time how much I spend on groceries. Well, this month I spent a measely $285 to feed/stockpile for my family of 5. In addition to that, I have sent in for $140 worth of FOOD rebates (this has been a very good rebate month). So after rebates I have spent $145 on Food this month. After rebates, that comes out to $36.25/week. Since we eat most meals at home and we eat very well, I am extremely happy with this total.

Bringing Home the FREE Bacon and more!!!

Free Bacon:

Go to Smithfield.com and sign up for their newsletter (you can always cancel your sign-up later or use an alternate e-mail address for the news letter) for a $3 off 1 Smithfield Bacon Coupon. It is good for 2 months after printing. It only let me print one, but usually you can print two of these types of coupons, so hit back a few times and see if it will let you print more.

This week at Martin's this Bacon is on sale for $2.50, so in theory this will be a money maker!

$15 P&G Coupon Booklet:

Go here and sign up for a $15 P&G Coupon booklet. This is from a store called Save-A-Lot's website. Not sure if they will be valid everywhere or not, but it is worth a shot.

Staples:

Sun - Wed. Only:
Staples has a number of school supplies for .50 this week. These may or may not be a good deal for you. But what is a good deal is that they have Copy Paper (again) for .50 after instant savings and easy rebate, limit 2. They also have spiral notebooks for .15/each. Not quite as good as they had them a few weeks ago at .01/each.

CVS:

If you haven't asked your pharmacist about Ready Fill, yet do it soon. The $4/$20 coupons that you get when you ask, expire next week. Then get your pre-coupon total to over $20, and give them this coupon first.

Glade reed diffuser or 4.9-10 oz soy candles are $6.99, get $6.99 in ecbs. This becomes a money maker if you have the $3 coupon from August's All You magazine. There is also a $2 coupon on page 134 of this month's All You magazine. Or go here and print a $2 coupon.

They have several other ecb deals this week, but no more free items.

Food Lion:

I posted a few days ago a coupon for $5 off $20 meat coupon. Until Tuesday the Ground Chuck is on sale for $1.68 (I believe the regular price is $3.09). If my regular price is right, then you can get 6.5lbs for a sale price of $10.92 - $5 coupon = $5.92. The $20 amount on the coupon is the pre-sale price. YOUR PRE-SALE PRICE MUST EXCEED $20 and this does not include meat markdowns for quick sale. Since most of the cashiers don't really understand this, don't call attention to it, just put it in with the rest of your order. It only confuses the ones who don't know.

If you feel I am sending you all over town to get the best deals, then you need to plan your weeks. For example, I have Target/Walmart and Staples on one side of town and Food Lion/Rite Aid/CVS/Martins on another side of town. I plan my trips together. If it seems like a lot of deals are going in one week, I will take a piece of scrap paper and write the names of each of the stores I want to go to and put my lists under each heading and attach my coupons. Then, when I am close to that store, I can do my shopping. Also keep in mind that it has been literally months since I have shopped at Costco (maybe last Christmas). That trip alone is 25 miles for me each way, so I feel that staying close to home to run errands saves gas that way.

At a quick glance, I didn't see any great deals at Target or Rite Aid, but if I find any, I will post them.

Food Lion

I haven't posted much about Food Lion lately because the coupons have been stinky. I didn't even print the last set. Anyway, there is one really good coupon this week. It is for $5 off of $20 in the meat department. Remember, it is good for 2 weeks and I have been told there will be really good meat sales over Labor Day Weekend. I'll keep you posted on that.

Anyway this is how these coupons work: the $20 amount for the coupon is the pre-sale price. So say you have a meat that is regularly $1.99/lb and it is on sale for .99. Buy 10.1 lbs x $1.99 (reg. price) = $20.10, the sale price though is $10 - $5 coupon = $5 out of pocket for 10 pounds of meat.

If I find any other great deals, I will let you know. REMEMBER TO CHOOSE THE NUMBER OF COUPONS YOU WANT FOR THE NEXT 2 WEEKS BEFORE YOU PUSH PRINT THE SECOND TIME.

$5 off $20

On another note, I used that $5 off coupon today at PetSmart and although they made it go through, it wasn't scanning properly. Just a heads up.

Gotta Run!

School Shopping and More

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

O.k. I finished my school shopping today. I wound up spending $5.40 for all 3 kids. Of course my youngest, is in pre-school so his supplies are more household type products rather than office supplies. Before today, my total was $1.50.

GO GET A $25 CREDIT ON YOUR EMBARQ BILL

If you have been reading my blog, a couple of months ago (maybe around March), I told you to sign up for paperless billing through Embarq and they would send you a $25 Restaurants.com gift certificate. Well I never got mine. So I called today and spoke with a very nice lady and instead of the gift card, she put a $25 credit on my account. Yeah!!!!! So if you never received your gift card, call for your credit. Their number is 888.723.8010.

KMART SUCKS

One of my stops today was at KMART for the Transformer's deal I told you about a few days ago. I should have known it was not as great as it sounds. First of all those stupid toys don't even transform. They are basically matchbox cars that are disguised as Transformers. My son would have not liked them, so I did not do it at all.

Since I was there, I went through their clearance stuff and even those prices were bad. I can see why they are having trouble.

HARRIS TEETER

Harris Teeter is doing Super Doubles this week. That means they are doubling any coupon with a face value of up to $1.98. That means a $1.50 coupon becomes a $3 coupon. Their rules are tougher than other stores. They have a limit of 20 coupons per day per customer (linked by card and address). Also, from what I understand you can only give them 3 coupons of a kind (say 3 $1 off Post Cereal Coupons).

$5 off Petco

Here is a link for $5 off $25 at Petco. You can often use these at Petsmart as a competitor's coupon too. If you have manufacturer's coupons to use, give them the store coupon first. It expires 8/31
(That's our new Guinea Pig, Puddin--Sorry Mom, your babies didn't make it to this post!)

Back To School Deals (Staples)!

O.k. so far for my 3 kids, I have spent $1.50 total on school supplies. I am not counting any of the penny items in that total, but I am sure I haven't spent more than $1-$2 on penny items. I have about 5 or 6 items that I have not been able to find real cheap, so I plan to use the $4 off $20 CVS coupon that I got from asking the pharmacist about Ready Fill and some of the $34 I have in ECBs and get the remainder of my school supplies. Of course I will still go to Staples and get the penny deals this week, so that I have a supply stash for next year.

Here are the back to school deals for this week:

STAPLES:
Buy 1, get 2 Free deals:
Sliding Pencil Box (.99)
Erasers ($3.29)
12 Count Pens ($1.99)
2 Pack Scissors ($1.99)
Ruler ($1.49)
200 Count Construction Paper ($4.99) -- I will probably get this to have around the house. 600 sheets of construction paper: $5. Peace and Quiet for Mom: priceless

Penny Deal: Pocket Folders, limit 20 (Sunday - Wednesday only)

Friday, August 21, 2009

6 Transformer Toys for $11!!!

This is an awsome deal for me right now. My 4 year old is about to have a birthday and Christmas is right around the corner. If you don't have any boys, think of saving the toys for upcoming b-day parties or Christmas presents for nephews. I have not done this yet, so can not confirm it personally, but this is the deal:

1) Go here and print the $5 off $20 Transformer Toy coupon (expires 8/31)

2) Then go coupons.com (or link to it through the coupon bar on the left of this post -- HINT, HINT) and enter your zipcode (if your zipcode doesn't work, use 22630) and find the B1G1 Free Transformer's Toy Coupon (upto $3.99 value), expires 9/15. You can print it twice. IF YOU CHOOSE ONLY THAT COUPON, IT PRINTS A FULL PAGE OF COLOR, so choose 2 or 3 coupons at a time.

3) Go to KMART and pick 6 Transformer Toys @3.99/each (now if these toys are a different price, it changes this deal -- sorry) = $23.94 - $5 coupon (first) = 18.94 - $7.98 (2 - 3.99 coupons) = 10.96.

If you have another computer you could print a 3rd coupon and get all 6 for $7!!!

My Food Lion Trip Today!

O.k. first of all I am bummed that I missed Harris Teeter's triples this week. So I went to Food Lion and made up my own sale.

On this first picture I spent $20.34 and am sending in a rebate for $20. That is right, I am getting virtually all my money back on that one. I found my rebate for these items on the School Bus display at my Food Lion, but you can order one from here.

On this picture, I spent $8.10 and I am sending in a rebate for $10. That is right, on this one I am making a small amount of money. This rebate is the Kelloggs Fuel For School Rebate that was in the paper a few weeks ago. Again, you can get yours from here. Scroll to the very bottom right hand side.

Of course, I was able to get my totals lower for both of these deals by using coupons too.

My last transaction was not really as lucrative, but I had to get several items. My total grocery bill spent on this one was $26, but I got a lot of produce, a gallon of milk, 4 Kraft Singles, 1 Mott's Apple Sauce 6-packs, more tissues and a big thing of vinegar (we are making pickles from our garden).

I also made a very frugal dinner tonight which cost us $1.06 total, which fed my entire family with left overs. We had ratatoulle from the fresh veggies in my garden (free), Wild Rice (free at Bloom triples a few months back) and a 2lb package of bone-in chicken which I bought for $1.06 last week at Food Lion.

School Supply Deals!

So far I have only spent $1.50 on School supplies (I am not counting anything I got for .01 or Free). I do have a few more items that I have not found free deals on, so I probably will wind up spending between $5-$10 total for 3 kids. I even got a back pack for my youngest for free a few weeks ago. Here is what school supply deals I found this week:

CVS:
I didn't find hardly anything this week that I want at CVS. They have some get $5 ECB's when you buy $15 deals (one on candy and one on certain school supplies). First, I don't need $15 candy (I think I have $15 worth stuck to my rearend already). Second, you would still need to spend $10 on school supplies to get the $5 ecbs and that is just too much. Here are the other deals:

3-Day Deal ends Tuesday:
Revlon Color Stay Mousse Makeup, 9.99, get 9.99 in ecbs = FREE

All Week Deal:
Coppertone $8.99, get $2 ECBS. If you get the Coppertone Nutrashield and use this $5 off coupon, you would pay only $2.

Next week there will be some more school deals (Filler paper, pens, pencil boxes)

Rite Aid:
Scotch Pop-up Tape, $2.49, FREE after SCR
HEADS UP: Starting Wednesday - next Tuesday (8/12-8/18), Harris Teeter will be tripling coupons. I will try to give you some highlights as I get them.

$5 off $25 CVS coupon

Go here and take the 5 questions readyfill quiz (right in the middle of the screen) to print a coupon valid for 2 weeks after printing. I did not see that many great deals this week, but next week there should be more school deals. Also, it states on their website that if you go into CVS and ask about readyfill, they will give you a $25 coupon booklet. I have not tried this yet, but will this week.

Food Lion Coupons

I am not doing matchups this time. I have been sick and am trying to catch up on other things, however, for those of you who usually get coupons, they first ones didn't work yesterday (foodlion had a glitch), so here are the new coupons:

Guiding Stars coupon good through 9/1. This is good on anything with a nutritional value. Since we drink enough milk that we could have our own cow, I have been using it on that. Print as many as you can use the first time you go to print.

Coupons expire 8/22:
Coupons #1
$1/2 FL potato chips
$1/$5 Butcher Brand Beef
$1/1 FL peanut butter
FREE 15oz can of Chef Boyardee wyb 1 gal. of Hawaiian Punch

Coupons #2
$1 tostitios
$1/3 smart options
$1 skippy pb
chef boyardee

Deals after the above coupons:

Food Lion Potato Chips = .50/each

Smart Options Pizzas (buy 4 to get the $3 pre-mvp minimum) = 4/$1

I went today and got 2 notebooks, 2 pairs of scissors, 2 packages of Stayfree pads, 2 folders, 2 3-ring binders, 2 book covers, a protractor and a compass. I rang up in 2 seperate transactions (I didn't have enough ecbs accumulated to ring up only one time). My out of pocket for all of that was under $1!!! I basically paid tax. They were out of a few things that I wanted, so I did get rainchecks for those items.

STAPLES
O.k., they don't have any freebies this week, but they do have Notebook Filler paper on sale for .01. This is not a easy rebate, this is a sale. Tonight I bought my limit of 5 packages and my total was .05! Since this isn't linked to your card, if you need more, you can ring up seperately (or have your kids ring up seperately) to get more than the 5 limit. This sale ends Wednesday.

Check Out these Kraft Promotions

$55 in Kraft Savings:

Go here and sign-up to get your $55 in Savings booklet. Part of the book is a 20 rebate for buying 20 participating Kraft items. The other $35 is in coupons. I also found these booklets in the freezer section at my Food Lion today (Thanks Fran for telling me to look there).

$25 in Kraft products Free (August 7th - August 23):

This next promotion is store specific and the only store in my area that is included is Shopper's Food Warehouse. However, to get $25 worth of free Food, I probably will make a trip there. The way it works is when you buy $25 worth of participating items, a $5 coupon off your next purchase will print at the register and a $20 rebate form will print at the register (then you have to mail in the form and your receipt for reimbursement). Since Shoppers is a drive for me, I will do a second transaction to spend my $5 on my next purchase for items I need. Here are the details.

Food Lion Shopping List (7/29 - 8/4)

Sorry this post is squashed together. I have tried to edit it 3 times to put space between each item and for some reason, it is not allowing me this morning.
Here's my Food Lion list this week:
1) Deli Turkey Breast is BOGO, regular price is $5.49, get 2 lbs = Regular price $10.98, sale price is $5.49 - $3/$10 Deli Coupon found here = $2.49 for 2lbs. When Food Lion has coupons like this, the $10 amount is pre-mvp price.
2) FL Milk $1.99, after using this coupon (which is actually good on anything with a guiding stars rating (is basically anything with a nutritional value)), that purchase counts towards my buy 6 gallons, get one free.
3) Use the Home 360 Coupon found here under the title FL Private Brand FLIPs, to get free tissues. I know this will be popular for back to school, but please don't buy them all before I get there.
--Use these coupons for the below deals. Remember to select the number of prints you need the very first time you pull them up. ($2 off Tide, $1 off 2 loaves of bread, $1 off Hi-C, $1 off Food Lion Oatmeal):
4) Food Lion Oatmeal, small containers (not sure of the price) - $1 coupon above.
5) Food Lion Sandwich Bread .99/each - $1 coupon above = $1 for 2 loaves
6) Ragu 45oz Jars, Sale Price $2, buy 2 = $4 - this $2 coupon = $2 - this $1 coupon = $1/2 large jars of sauce. The second coupon is in Spanish, but it scans fine and I have used it without problems.
